Labor pain
During pregnancy and delivery, things happen in the body that cause pain. It’s only natural. And it’s just as natural that you feel a bit worried about being in pain, especially if it’s your first pregnancy or if you were in a lot of pain last time. Naturally you want to avoid subjecting the baby inside you to painkillers.
The TENS pain relief method is often used for pregnancies and deliveries. It is a natural method, free from side effects, and you decide yourself when and how much pain relief you need. You can use TENS as the only pain relief method, or where necessary with other methods.
Suggested treatment
We recommend that you ask your doctor, physiotherapist or midwife to help you test out locations for the electrodes and basic settings of the TENS stimulator. Sometimes it takes several tries to find a treatment that feels right.
For pregnancy and delivery pains, place the electrodes on the lower back. The Cefar Birth stimulator sends a weak, harmless electric current through the electrodes. It doesn’t hurt, but can tingle slightly, like a carbonated drink on your skin under the electrodes. The electrical impulses block the pain impulses to the brain so you don’t feel them. You can use TENS throughout your labor.
IMPORTANT!
- Exercise caution during the first trimester.
- Never connect an electrode pair over the stomach when pregnant.
Note: People with pacemakers must not receive TENS treatment.

Recommended unit for effective treatment of the above condition: Cefar Femina
